USA Customers - Beware of off shore purchases.|
We created this web page on December 12, 2012 in response to phone calls
that we receive from USA customers who have purchased off shore and now want
service or warranty here. We can only offer help on units made here in the
Customs Duties and Taxes
Please be aware that the US government may impose extra charges
such as Customs Duties and possibly Sales Tax and you may also incur a
brokerage fee from the shipper.
US CUSTOMS & THE FDA
SOMETIIMES BLOCK/ REJECT SHIPMENTS
Offshore Medical items that are sold here in the
USA with prescription required such as all UV (ultraviolet) Medical Products
are not allowed in the USA unless the item is FDA 10K Certified and YOU have
a prescription from your doctor!
FREQUENCY CHECK VERY CAREFULLY
Dermalight 80 which is designed to work at 220V / 50 Hz sometimes
will not work reliably here even with a suitable step-up
transformer. Transformers DO NOT CHANGE THE FREQENCY and for some
reason the 50 Hz Dermalight 80 does not operate reliably here in the
USA where we have 60 Hz power! Some of the 50 Hz units will run here
but many will not.
the offshore vendors include a 110V to 220V transformer and many of
these will not reliably operate the 220V / 50 Hz Dermalight 80.
Remember, transformers only change the voltage but not the
frequency. Check to make sure the unit you are buying is designed to
operate here in the USA or Canada at 60Hz.
WARRANTY & REPAIR
We do not honor the warranty if any ofered by the offshore vendor.
If something goes wrong, you will need to send the unit back to where you
purchased it, assuming that they even will allow returns.
BREAKING US LAW
Remember that by buying medcal products requiring a prescription is a
violation of US Law.
PARTS IS PARTS
Some vendors/makers do use some FDA approved light bulbs or other components
in their products implying that the whole manufactured unit is FDA
Certified! This is not true, individual parts may be certified but the
equipment itself may not be. Parts is Part!
